Join us, as students learn to put ‘Me in Media’

We are swimming in Mass Media. And we can’t learn to swim in a gymnasium. Similarly, we can’t learn about media without making our own media. Welcome to the site of Fredericton High School’s 2012-2013 Media Studies classesIt’s through this web site that you will find what the average kids think about the media, what is cool, the impact of Marshall McLuhan, what movies to watch and music to listen to, and some details about how the students react to media. These may be average kids, but their answers are far from ordinary. Check back often, as it gets updated throughout the course.

  1. Hello Mr. Gange and students at FHS. I appreciate you sending this link out to the media literacy groups in Canada. I have been involved with the Alberta Association for Media Awareness for over 15 years. I have worked in broadcasting since I was in high school (waaaaay long ago 😉 and for the past two decades have worked as a film reviewer who specializes in looking at the messages and subtexts embedded in movies.

I enjoy reading the students’ posts on this blog. Frankly most of us in the industry are far too disconnected from our audiences and especially young consumers of media. While I do have four children to help me stay “connected” it’s great to find a source of other opinions and responses to media. Keep it coming!

  2. Greate article. Keep writing such kind of information on your blog.

After reading all of the articles you have shared on this website I have a lot of hope for the future of media. As someone who took Mr. Gange’s class in high school and learned a lot from him and the material it’s clear that many of you have had a similar experience to mine and I’m happy to say that if you continue on this path you will succeed. Thanks for sharing and keep it up.
